The toolkit below is intended to assist local breastfeeding coalitions in Minnesota in working in their local area toward meeting Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition’s Strategic Goal 1 for 2015 – 2020: Environments in Minnesota are breastfeeding friendly.
Objective 1 for 2018 was: 80% of local breastfeeding coalitions (listed as of October 2017) identify at least one worksite within their geographic region as having achieved Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Breastfeeding Friendly Workplace recognition.
Objective 1 for 2018 was met! However, more worksites around the state are working on meeting the MDH Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite requirements.
Objective 1 for 2019, from the Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition Strategic Plan, is: Develop a plan in collaboration with local coalitions and SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Partnership) to continue work on Breastfeeding Friendly Worksites and Childcare.
The resources below are for local coalitions to use when working with employers who are interested in making their workplace breastfeeding friendly.
