Registration is now open for the 6th Annual Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition Statewide Meeting and Pre-Meeting Baby-Friendly Workshop.

WHEN:  October 11, 2013 for the 6th Annual Meeting, 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  AND October 10, 2013 for the Pre-Meeting Workshop, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

WHERE:  First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Glencoe, Minnesota (about 1 hour west of metro area)

The 6th Annual Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition (MBC) Statewide Meeting is a day-long event bringing breastfeeding advocates together from around the state. The theme Building Connections for Breastfeeding highlights how working with community, health care, coalitions, childcare, policy, workplace and public health helps make breastfeeding easier.

Visit the Annual Meeting page for a preliminary agenda. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Babies in arms are always welcome. Lactation room available for pumping. Light breakfast, lunch and snacks included with registration fee. CEUs will be available. Registration fee for the Annual Meeting is $40 plus $1.79 processing fee.

A pre-meeting workshop for maternity center staff is being offered this year on Thursday, October 10 from 1:00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. As a follow-up to the Perinatal Hospital Leadership Summit from May 2013, this workshop will focus on helping birthing centers implement the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding. Registration fee for Workshop is $20 plus $1.39 processing fee. Light refreshments included with fee.

Registration fee for attending both the Annual Meeting AND Workshop is $55 plus $2.09 processing fee. To keep fees low handouts for downloading and printing will be made available on the website before the Meeting and Workshop. Registrants will receive an email when materials are available.

Hotel rooms are available at Glencoe Super 8, at a group rate of $59 to $64 +tax for single to double occupancy. Call 320-864-6191 and mention “MBC” to reserve a room. An optional dinner will be held at Zella’s in Hutchinson, Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:00 p.m. Please RSVP for the dinner online when registering for the meetings so we know how many to expect.
